Rhapsody & Co. started with a single candle - Southern Hospitality, from our signature collection. I was immediately drawn to the challenge and the science behind candle making, with the goal of creating the best product possible. I was always on the hunt for my next favorite candlemaker and scent, and being able to make my own was extremely rewarding. Even more importantly, I was on the hunt for non-toxic products to add to my life that smelled good! Is it just me, or has it been nearly impossible to walk into a brick and mortar store lately in search of a nice smelling, non-toxic candle to just leave disappointed and with a headache? We use 100% soy coconut wax, pure ingredients, and non-toxic fragrances which we believes sets us apart from the mass produced competition. Our products are all handmade down to the beautiful foiled labels, and we strive to source locally when we can.

The challenge to master candles quickly expanded, and I began experimenting with lip products, sugar scrubs, body creams, room sprays, and aroma bead fresheners. Before I knew it, my home kitchen was affectionately referred to as my “chemistry lab” and I started using my friends as human test subjects (after I tested everything myself, of course!). After hours of research into the best ingredients and formulation, many test batches and twenty five different label designs, Rhapsody was born.

I didn’t stop there, however. In late 2022, after a successful first year at markets, I felt the intense urge to explore diversifying my products and truly steering towards my goal of becoming more of a gifting brand - focusing on unique home goods, accessories, and novelty laser engraved and hand painted items. Now known as Rhapsody Handcrafted, we pride ourselves on the personal touches and handmade nature of all of our products, from candles to cutting boards.

For those with wanderlust and adventure in their hearts (even if you’re dreaming about these things from a corporate office building!). We are inspired by travel and music, and all of the wonderful things that spark when they meet. Rhapsody Handcrafted draws inspiration from the lyrical soundtrack of our lives and the places we experience through that journey.

We all want safe products that not only smell or look amazing, but compliment your life effortlessly. Rhapsody & Co. began after months of frustration only finding mass produced candles that either induced a headache from the fragrance used, smelled artificial or awful, contained toxins and chemicals, or they just plain didn’t work. We knew there was a better way, and once we got the hang of it, we wanted to share it with the world!

Our products are made in small batches by hand - the inside joke is that we do everything except blow the glass! We design and hand foil each label, and our products have slight variations as a result (this can include small differences in foil color, design, and imperfect foil adhesion) - but we like to think of these as positives as it makes each item unique. We are focused on quality and beauty, and can’t wait for you to give us a try.

Since the tender age of seventeen, I’ve had what some may consider a peculiar hobby - following bands and singers I love on tour. I am no stranger to hopping in a car to get to the next city for another show the following night. I’ve had my fair share of cross-country plane rides and road trips down each coast. I’ve camped on sidewalks and slept in cars all for the chance to grab that front row barricade. One time, I even followed a band to Jamaica. Another time, I may or may not have been in a car that raced down a deserted highway in the middle of the night against a lead singer (all in good fun). My “concert life” has been in the fast lane, and the unforgettable memories, sights, people, situations, and places are an unending source of inspiration that fuel the products offered on our site.

In my other professional life, I have an established career as an HR Director. I have mostly worked for small companies with a focus on building HR functions, process, procedures, and departments to increase organizational efficiency. I’m an employee benefits nerd, a proud dog mom, and someone who loves to call Atlanta her home.
